The Decoded Fashion New York Summit offers intimate Roundtable sessions, which deep-dive into the hottest topics, encourage interactive discussions and collaborative conversations in a relaxed environment.

 

With a maximum of 10 delegates, these drill down roundtables are a more intimate and informal way for you to brainstorm on a given topic. You will find these sessions open, productive and challenging to your own creative and practical thinking. Please note they are first come, first served so sign up for the one you are interested in. Tables 1 – 3 are open to brands only.

- As a consumer, what’s the most memorable experience you’ve had with digital in store? What made it memorable?

- What can and should technology deliver in a retail environment? (a more personalized experience driven by data, increased conversion), (a more immersive brand experience), (storytelling/contextualization of product)

- What can brands do to ensure digital in store delivers value and isn’t simply a gimmick?

- For luxury brands, the relationships between associates and their clients are paramount. How do you ensure digital strengthens that connection? How does the role of the associate evolve in an increasingly digital environment?

- In your experience, what have been the biggest pain points in integrating tech in-store? How did you work around the challenge?

4. SCALING UP FOR GROWTH: HOW TO BECOME AND REMAIN A MAJOR PLAYER

 

We will discuss the key issues faced by tech/fashion companies in the evolution of your business in terms of (1) IP (2) privacy and (3) commercial / contractual needs. We will also consider specific areas that start up tech companies and startup fashion companies need to think about when working with each other.

 

- Starting out:

- Key do’s/don’ts

- How do you prioritize expenditures –how important is it to obtain formal IP protection?

- Data issues – do you collect and/or use data/customer information and how critical is it to the business?

- What contracts do you really need: TOS/privacy policy/employment?

- Growing the business:

- When and how do you scale?

- What are the key considerations and hurdles (IP/contractual/privacy) to expanding internationally?

- Do you need expanded/ more sophisticated terms, additional contracts (licensing, distribution etc), privacy policies and systems?

 

- Maintaining success:

- How can you keep your competitive advantage?

- When/How do you determine if it is necessary to enforce IP?

- What should you consider in terms of IP in order to expand beyond core business/brand extensions?

- Does this require additional or revised contracts or a review of privacy issues?
